Praised both by critics and gamers, the latest instalment of the Total War series takes strategy enthusiasts back to 16th-century Japan and presents a lavish blend of 3D real-time battles and turn-based management.
Total War: Shogun 2 really shows the potency of AMD's latest creation. In this title, the HD 7970 OC is a massive 32 per cent quicker than NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 580.
But there's no real surprise here; Gigabyte's card, as expected, is a bit quicker than reference. Cutting to the chase, let's now find out if it's cooler, quieter and able to overclock as well as we'd expect.
