Benchmark: Power, temperature and noise
The 448-core GTX 560 Ti was always going to be more power hungry than a regular GTX 560 Ti, but we're surprised to see Gigabyte's card pulling more juice than a reference GTX 570.
But while power consumption was slightly higher than anticipated, there's nothing at all wrong with the temperatures. Gigabyte's card is impressively cool under load - so much so that we re-ran the benchmark a couple of times to make sure the number was right. It actually is a full 17ºC cooler than a regular GTX 570 while playing Crysis 2.
The triple-fan WindForce cooler does an excellent job of keeping temperatures in check, and it stays lovely and quiet, too. It is barely audible when idle, and it remains unobtrusive under load. The fans can be heard as they ramp up in speed, but they produce little more than a soft hum.
