Benchmark: DiRT 2

DiRT 2, a lovely-looking racer and one of the first games to use a DX11 path offers improved visuals whilst burning through the London map.

DiRT 2 sums it up rather well. Would you sacrifice a little performance, save £80 and go for a reference GTX 470? Probably. Would you save £20 and go for near-identical performance from a Radeon HD 5870? Maybe. And, if you're in the market for a monster card, is the full-on GeForce GTX 480 still the best bet? Definitely.

But these after-market cards aren't solely about performance. The GTX 470 SOC overclocks well, consumes less power than you'd think and is incredibly quiet during use.
