EVGA GeForce GTX 460 768MB

Focussing on value, EVGA sent us one it its GeForce GTX 460 768MB cards. Remember that it ships with the same frequencies as the 1,024MB part but is equipped with less memory and a narrower bus-width.

The design is wholly different to ZOTAC's and mirrors NVIDIA's internal reference model. Tipping the scales at 482g - 99g lighter than the ZOTAC - EVGA opts for a central 80mm fan positioned on top of an aluminium heatsink with a copper base. Helping cooling matters are two heatpipes going off in opposite directions.

A 150W TDP is still 40W or so higher than a same-sized Radeon HD 5770, and this is why even the cheaper GeForce GTX 460 needs two six-pin connectors.

Largely the same as the other GTX 460 on the back.

Keeping it reference, two dual-link DVIs are positioned to the right of a mini-HDMI port.

Making most of the bitstreaming audio over HDMI, EVGA throws in a mini-HDMI-to-HDMI cable and various power connectors. The CD carries the company's Precision overclocking utility, upgraded for use with the GTX 460.

Backed by a two year warranty and extendible to three years upon registration, we expect the card to ship at £175 in a week or so's time.
