Play spot-the-difference game with a pre-overclocked GeForce 9800 GTX on the top and a pre-overclocked GeForce 9800 GTX on the bottom. Ahem, that should be GeForce 9800 GTX+ at the bottom. Notice any thinly-veiled cynicism here?




So which is which, then? They are two separate cards.

It's very difficult to discern the difference between the GeForce 9800 GTX and GTX+ by looking at the pictures.

NVIDIA has gone to some lengths to 'hide' the actual size of the core on the 55nm part, which has an unchanged transistor count.

Our best-guess estimate is that the 55nm GTX+'s die-size is around 230mm², down from the ~330mm² on the 65nm-based GTX.
