Bundle and presentation

Slap bang in the middle of the box is one of PNY's strongest selling points. As the box proclaims, the Verto 6600 GT 128MB card has Far Cry bundled in with it. It's actually one of the games that we use to test graphics cards' mettle, so it'll be interesting to see how the PNY card fares.

Unfortunately, this is what was left of the bundle once another review site, who shall remain nameless, had finished with it. Expect retail packs to contain the aforementioned copy of Far Cry, a driver CD containing a relatively new set of ForceWare drivers, an installation guide, DVI dongle, and an interesting cable.

NVIDIA's integrated video encoder runs up to 1080i (1920x1080i) and PNY makes use of it by including an HDTV breakout box, which links to the back of the card via an S-Video connection. One usually finds it bundled in with VIVO-equipped or home theater-orientated cards. S-Video is extended through the front, and analogue component connections (YpPrPb)green, blue, and red jacks)) hook-up to High-Definition TVs, high-end CRTs, and projectors. Handy if you have equipment that can make immediate use of it. Be sure to install a new set of ForceWares - older ones weren't too hot on encoding.
