We expect the FX-8370E to do well in the power consumption stakes. Idle power draw for the entire system is very respectable.
One man's energy efficiency is not quite the same as another's. Bear in mind that the entire platform is taken into account. It's telling that the octo-core monster that is Core i7-5960X consumes just a few more platform watts than the energy-efficient AMD FX-8370E.
Gaming power consumption is measured by seeing the highest figure during the Batman: Arkham Origin test. Here's where AMD doesn't do as well as expected - the energy-efficient FX, even as a platform, should be better than the Core i7-5960X.
