HandBrake relies on CPU oomph to convert a 1080p clip into an Android tablet-friendly movie. Core i5-4440 is 44 per cent faster than A10-7850K.
Benchmark scores are much, much closer when evaluating both the CPU and GPU via OpenCL-powered LuxMark. The results are close enough to call this a tie.
A poster-child for AMD's OpenCL performance via the baked-in GCN graphics, Musemage, the image-manipulation program, runs at over twice the speed on a Kaveri A10-7850K. Putting the result in context, a standard GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB card scores 6,844 in the same test.
