Benchmarks: Core i7-3770K at 3.5GHz

On our stock-clocked Core i7-3770K processor, we've tested the Heligon HE02 in two modes; with no fans attached, and with two 140mm Phanteks PH-F140s. Both configurations still include our test platform's two chassis fans, so there is at least some airflow.

The results are mixed. With no fans attached to the cooler, the HE02 performs similarly to Intel's reference cooler. An actual temperature of 85ºC under extreme load across all cores is far from spectacular, but it shows that a passive HE02 can cool a high-end CPU.

What's more surprising is the cooler's performance when accompanied by two Phanteks fans. The HE02 is designed primarily as a passive solution, and it clearly doesn't make the best use of the added airflow; for a solution as large as this, 70ºC under load is well below average.
