Final thoughts and rating

It's easy to see why NZXT's Phantom has become a popular choice among self-builders; it isn't too expensive, it's high on features, it looks quirky, and it offers excellent cooling performance.

The second-generation model isn't drop-dead gorgeous, nor is it exquisitely built, but it continues to impress in all the areas that matter.

Like its predecessor, the Phantom 410 offers a massive array of cooling configurations, it still looks admirably wacky, it's easy to work with, and features such as USB 3.0 and an integrated fan controller complete a tidy mid-tower package.

Bottom line: The aesthetics remain an acquired taste, and there's no shortage of competition at this price point, but the Phantom 410 is one of the most feature-packed high-performance chassis available for under £85.

The Good

Quirky aesthetics
Great cooling performance
Integrated fan controller
Decent cable management

The Bad

Full-tower Phantom is only £20 more
Plastic front and top panels feel weak

If they could get someone to back a limited edition white motherboard and power supply, then that would be special.
Looks good…like the black and white mix.
Nice review …:clapping:

Looks good and performs pretty well. Not sure if a saving of just £20 from the larger model is enough though … No annoying side fan is a big plus in my book as I like tinkering.

I had one of the larger Phantoms and liked it as well, with the fans turned down it was surprisingly one of the quietest cases on the market and seemed to not take too much of a hit in performance like this 410 does. I actually regretted upgrading to a Corsair 650D which in many ways was anything but an upgrade.

Shame they haven't fixed the failing rubber grommets and for anybody looking to purchase one of these I would avoid the black version as it is a greasy fingerprint magnet - the white version would be ideal for me though as it does look stunning in real life.
I have the larger Phantom running an overclocked system and its cooling performance is excellent. Yesterday I took delivery of the 410. All looks good so far and I have already installed an additional top 120mm fan and a 140MM fan on the inside of the HDD cage. I have reservations about the lack of fan filters. On the larger model I am using the new magnetic filters obtainable at Quiet PC and will likely install these on this 410. I have suggested to the design team at NZXT that this is something they need to look at but the rest of the case is very impressive and I look forward to transferring a 1366 socket system into this case.
Scan used to stock the white NZXT Hale 90 PSUs which were cracking little units, but they no longer list them :(. Anyone from Scan able to advise if they will come back in (is this a knock on effect of the Tsunami as they were Japanese made, or at least heavily dependent on Japanese components according to their literature)
