London UK, 06 October 2011 - Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of storage and wireless networking solutions, is today announcing the launch of the DriveStationTM Velocity - an ultra high-speed 7,200 RPM desktop hard drive with TurboPC Ex utility for Windows.

The DriveStation Velocity is the latest USB 3.0 product in Buffalo's portfolio, transferring data at a rate of 5Gbps, making it ideal for transferring video and other data intensive digital content at blazing speeds. The sleek, piano-black device can transfer 1,000 digital photographs in 6.8 seconds - 5X faster than USB 2.0 - and includes 256-bit AES Full Disk Encryption (FDE) to protect your data from unauthorised access. For users that haven't moved up to USB 3.0 yet, the DriveStation Velocity is also backward compatible with USB 2.0.

The newest member of the DriveStation family comes with a 7,200 RPM drive and Buffalo's enhanced TurboPC Ex data transfer and copy utility, which adds more performance, speeding up the process of saving, copying and transferring files.
