Missed the press conference or unhappy with the text-blog live feeds offered to Joe Public? Well now's your chance to see exactly what went on at Microsoft's Windows 8 press conference yourself, with video feeds and download links now available on Microsoft's website.

If you're unable to view this video, you can download it directly HERE

More videos can be found at Microsoft's YouTube channel, including in-depth product demos of Windows 8 for the tablet.

Lots of goodies were introduced at the press conference, many tablets and Ultrabooks, new desktop PCs with screens capable of lowering, becoming a touch pad for games and productivity. Ultra-small AMD computers, giant multi-touch screens, NFC for pairing of Bluetooth devices. This is a video you're going to want to watch folks.

Personally, this writer is still heavily reserved over the new Windows 8 start screen and Metro system, whilst it's understandable for tablets, it feels like nothing but a hindrance for desktops, though, with the ability to spend most of one's time on a very Windows 7-like desktop, with a surprisingly well executed ribbon interface and revamped task manager, it's not all bad and, if Microsoft's performance claims ring true, the OS should run smooth and require less processing power than Windows 7.

We hope you're all enjoying your Consumer Previews!

Does this mean the technology press can get an oppertunity to say ‘lol, wtf were you thinking?’

Or you could watch it, or heaven forbid, use one of the devices….

Or just be like “duergh I can't see the need for it, it must be stupid”

Watching it, and more importantly, I've already gave the CP a run. Hence the comment. I've severely criticised Canonical for the same stupidity.
Microsoft want to get a share of the smart phone OS business but they also have this hard-on for making everything follow the design philosophies of Windows (Courier was a casualty of this). Seeing as how they can't scale Windows down instead they'll scale up what is, in essence, Windows Phone.
Rather than starting with a phone and then scaling up to a tablet in the evolutionary step that Apple took, Microsoft is trying to do everything at once and hit phones, tablets and desktops all in one fell swoop. Its a brave and revolutionary move, to have an OS split over so many different device types and hardware designs, not to mention processor architectures, is a monumental feat to accomplish - let alone seemingly bet the company on.
Playing chicken with a 70mph freight train is ‘brave’, too.
