EVGA has sent us news of a pair of new PC power supplies and a redesigned SLI bridge product this week. The power supplies are the EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GS and 550 GS units. EVGA's new SLI bridges are the PRO SLI Bridges V2, they are available in 2 way, 3 way and 4 way connector models.

New SuperNOVA power supplies

EVGA has introduced two new SuperNOVA GS power supplies. The EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GS and 550 GS are touted as affordable relatives of the 'award winning' GS range. Buyers will enjoy Gold-rated efficient performance from these PSUs which are "completely silent when under low loads". In ECO mode the fan doesn't spin at all, until necessary, under low to medium workloads.

Both the new SuperNOVA PSUs offer modular design for cleanly laid-out, airflow efficient and uncluttered cabling. Aiding the quietness these PSUs use Teflon Nano-Steel bearings. The EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GS/550 GS provide up to 54A / 45A respectively on their single +12V rail.

Despite the affordability EVGA has kitted out these power supplies with high quality Japanese Nippon Chemi-Con solid state capacitors and backed its quality claims with a five year warranty. The LLC resonant circuit design improves efficiency of these Gold rated 80 Plus certified PSUs which are 92 per cent efficient under typical workloads.

EVGA PRO SLI Bridges V2

EVGA has revamped its SLI bridge designs with a swish new anodised aluminium look and optimised them for next gen PC gaming resolutions and refresh rates. While these bridges are compatible with all SLI enabled setups the LEDs proudly light up when paired with select EVGA branded graphics cards.

There are four models of EVGA PRO SLI Bridges V2 to choose from. EVGA has produced models which support 2-Way (Short), 2-Way (Standard), 3-Way SLI, or 4-Way SLI. All the new aluminium shrouded bridges offer a high pixel clock design so you can be sure that they are ready for 4K+ and 120Hz+ gaming.

Graphics cards that are compatible with the LED lighting functionality of the bridges are as follows:

  • All EVGA GTX TITAN graphics cards.
  • All EVGA GTX 980 graphics cards.
  • Select EVGA GTX 970 graphics cards.
  • All EVGA GTX 960 graphics cards.
  • All EVGA GTX 780/780 Ti graphics cards.
  • Select EVGA GTX 770 graphics cards.

The EVGA SuperNOVA GS 550W and 650W PSUs are on pre-order at Scan.co.uk for £69.98 and £74.99, respectively, with stock due on April 15. No word on pricing for the SLI Bridges for the time being.

SLI bridges look nice.
I'm guessing they are unlikely to work with non-EVGA cards, though, right…?
I imagine they will just without the lighting effect. Isn't it nvidia that defines the spec of the bridges.
I just threw a Supernova 750w in the bin after it went faulty. I know it was made by superflower but after 6 months it started to squeal and made a click noise like a faulty capacitor and then it proceeded to melt the power lead. The reason I threw it was because EVGA support in the UK is rubbish, having to ship to Germany for testing is ridiculous, it would have cost half the amount of the psu. I'll not be buying EVGA again.
If it was only 6 months old then you should have done the rma through the retailer you bought it from. EVGA has one of the best customer service going. There are hardly any manufacturers with UK support these days.

I bought it through amazon who said I would have to do the RMA through EVGA, EVGA were a pain in the ass, I had about 10 emails back and forth, 3 of those emails were just to get a return address, its like they didn't want to say I'd have to ship it back to Germany, Go try to find EVGA's RMA address. I initially asked for a cross ship RMA but they wouldn't take my card details which I was willing to give them, they then said it would have to be standard RMA. One week on and with a splitting headache I decided enough was enough and binned it, Lesson learned. I bought a replacement and haven't looked back.
