ASUS has announced two new entertainment laptops; the 15.6-inch N552 and the 17.3-inch N752. Inside these machines ASUS has crammed a host of components that would probably be on many a laptop buyer's wish list including; up to a Skylake Core i7 CPU, up to an Nvidia GTX 960M GPU, up to 16GB DDR4 RAM, up to a 4K wide-gamut IPS display, up to 512GB fast PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD storage, and 10Gbit/s SuperSpeed USB (USB 3.1 Gen 2) with a USB Type-C connector – all wrapped up in an aluminium clad chassis.
On the topic of the N552 and N752 construction, ASUS has adorned these laptops with full aluminium lids and keyboard areas. On the lid you will see the signature ASUS 'Zen' style concentric rings plus ripple-effect design around the speaker grilles. The ASUS logo on the lid is gently illuminated. ASUS has equipped an ergonomic backlit keyboard with 1.8mm key travel in a rigid single piece frame.
The ASUS N552 and N752 offer 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch displays respectively. Whichever size you choose you can specify up to a 4K/UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS display. A wide colour gamut of up to 72% NTSC, 100% sRGB and 74% Adobe RGB is on offer from the panels fitted. ASUS has implemented its low blue light Eye Care technology to provide comfortable viewing over longer periods.
Rounding off the N552 and N752 entertainment appeal is ASUS SonicMaster audio, incorporating ICEpower technology. This combination provides "rich, clear, cinematic-quality surround sound from the powerful front-facing speakers," says the ASUS press release. ASUS AudioWizard provides six audio presets for quickly changing sound profiles to suit most content/environments.
