Sapphire Technology has launched a new version of its TriXX utility. TriXX version 6.0.0 beta is now available for download but the company has kept version v5.2.1 available to download from the same page. The update provides a whole new interface, as befits a whole version number increase, as well as further overvolting and overclocking capabilities.

To recap what the TriXX utility is for; it lets you overclock your Radeon or Fury graphics card's GPU core and memory, also it will allow you to adjust the GPU voltage, it facilitates saving settings as profiles with various fan speeds and so on, it supports multi-GPUs, it provides lashings of tech info and monitoring info about your graphics card, an is even available as a Windows sidebar gadget.

New in TriXX version 6.0.0 is a completely new interface. Interface appreciation is a personal thing, some will consider the new UI an improvement, others will criticise it. Have a look below for a side-by-side comparison of v5 and v6, respectively.

New features in TriXX version 6.00 are as follows;

  • Now supports over-volting on Radeon R300 series
  • Now supports HBM memory overclock on FURY cards
  • Now supports over-volt on FURY cards
  • Minimise TriXX to task bar

Sapphire notes that version 6.0.0 also brings extra modern feature support to the utility including; customisable Nitro Glow RGB adjustment (with five presets), Fan Check functionality, and an extra user name set profile slot bringing the total to five.

Sapphire's TriXX v6.0.0 beta is only a small download at 2.3MB.

Gave it a try last night - not massively impressed. Only small advantage over wattman is light control and the hotwheels look is awful… Hope it improves soon.
Ya gave it a try also in my Lap surprisingly my temp just reduced the moment I kept it running and I am really loving it.
Version 6.0 is for the RX 480 only and does not support the Fury cards despite the advertising blurb. That's why version 5.2 is still available. Looks like it was designed by a 3 year old with a crayon.
