Nvidia has released a new WHQL driver. The driver, version 368.69, is described as a Game Ready driver, optimised for DiRT Rally VR. Alongside the tuning and tweaks for DiRT Rally VR, promising "the best gameplay on day one", Nvidia has implemented new SLI profiles for five popular PC games.

According to Nvidia's drivers blog, DiRT Rally is one of the best racers around, "and undeniably the best rally game in years". Existing PC players will get an update from Steam later this month and a custom-built virtual reality version of the game for the Oculus Rift will be available soon via the Oculus Store. This new v368.69 WHQL will provide you with an optimised experience on your computer screen or HMD.

Looking through the release notes (PDF), you can see mentioned five new SLI gaming profiles. These are as follows:

  • Armored Warfare - added DirectX 11 SLI profile
  • Dangerous Golf - added SLI-Single profile
  • iRacing: Motorsport Simulator - added DirectX 11 SLI profile
  • Lost Ark - added DirectX 9 SLI profile
  • Tiger Knight - added SLI-Single profile

Beyond these enhancements and additions there are the usual crop of bug fixes including; a fix for crashing in Windows Media Player with Fast Sync enabled, fix for The Crew crashes, a fix for cooling fans spinning up and down rapidly on the GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition cards, and more. You can find the full list of fixed issues on page 10 of the release notes as linked above.

This latest driver release comes with GeForce Experience 2.11.4.0 but on its blog Nvidia encourages users to test out the new v3.0 beta release with its big under the hood and UI changes. It says that if you do so you will be entered into a draw for a free GeForce GTX 1080 – you will have to log in/create a user name and password to use v3 of this companion software.
