Today saw the launch of NVIDIA's G72 based GeForce 7300 GS graphics card, and one of the first to come forth with a product is, as always, XFX.
Rys has covered the technical bits of G72 and the 7300 GS in his launch coverage. Think of 7300 to be to the GeForce 7 range, what the 6200 is to the GeForce 6 series.
So, what's XFX done with the 7300 GS? Turbo cache is in use to support up to 512MiB of framebuffer, along with the rest of the features of the G72 core. The reference boards in Rys' article depict two board designs, one half height, and the other full height, featuring an extra video output (D-SUB). However, XFX has gone for a half height board with full height bracket, allowing them to have the full set of outputs on a smaller board, saving costs while keeping connectivity.
The XFX GeForce 7300 GS should arrive in the next week or so, priced at 69 Euros on the continent, so we can expect a price of around Ā£50.
