AMD has released the latest version of its Catalyst Software Suite for Windows operating systems and Linux platforms.

AMD Catalyst 11.12 includes support for the OpenGL 4.2 specification and AMD HD3D technology when using a 3x1 Landscape Eyefinity display group. Finally, you should see some improvement to the way you can control dual graphics from within the Vision Engine Control Centre. The driver also now supports RHEL 6.2 for Linux platforms.

You can download the AMD Catalyst 11.12 driver here.

This also coincides with the release of the AMD Catalyst 12.1 Preview, which includes all of the features found in AMD Catalyst 11.12 and all of the latest optimisations found in the AMD Catalyst 11.11c performance drivers.

The preview driver is highly recommended for Skyrim players as it supposedly improves performance significantly when Multi-Sample Anti-Aliasing is enabled on the AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series for single GPU and AMD CrossFireX configurations.

Full details of the improvements it brings can be found here.
