Cooler Master today launched its latest laptop cooling product, the Notepal ErgoStand III. This is a tilt adjustable ergonomic laptop stand which can cool laptops with screens as large as 17-inches. It is said to be ultra-quiet yet provide good airflow thanks to its "massive 230mm ultra silent fan".

Some laptops, especially the higher performance workstation and gaming types of designs, can create rather a lot of heat. While these laptops should be designed to move the heat away from the performance components of CPU and GPU efficiently you might appreciate a laptop stand that gets that hot air away quicker and further from you - as you operate the machine. Laptop stands with active cooling can address this cooling requirement and are great for providing better ergonomics for working with your laptop at a desk.

Cooler Master introduced the Notepal ErgoStand III laptop cooler to address the above laptop usage concerns. The firm also seeks to outline a product that will not disappoint users with ineffectual additional cooling ability, irritating noise or a lack of ergonomic adjustability.

Cooler Master Notepal ErgoStand III specifications:

  • Model: R9-NBS-E32K-GP
  • Colour: Black
  • Materials: Metal Mesh, Plastic
  • Weight: 1.21kg (42.68oz)

  • Current Consumption: 0.26A

As you can see from the hardware specs above, the Notepal ErgoStand III should cool well with its 230mm ultra silent fan providing 72 cubic feet per minute of airflow. At peak it produces only 21 dBA of background noise. Cooler Master says this volume level "is equivalent to the volume of a rustling leaf in a light breeze". The large Cooler Master designed fan is self-lubricating, IP6X dustproof rated and said to be durable for 160,000 hours of use. It's easy to control the fan speed with the etched aluminium dial on the upper left of the stand which also allows you to completely turn off the fan.

For comfortable use at your desk the ErgoStand incorporates six tilt angles. You might also appreciate the thoughtful cable management grooves and hooks at your desk. The built-in USB hub will be useful for many users and includes four regular sized USB 2.0 ports plus a mini and micro USB port.

In an email to HEXUS Cooler Master said that its new Notepal ErgoStand III will be available from later this month with a recommended price of £34.99.

Should say four regular sized USB 2.0 ports as per the pic and spec.

USB: USB 2.0 x 4 + mini USB x 1 + micro USB x 1
Looks better than the stand im currently using actually. Dont really need active cooling or anything that big, but the mechanism would work better on my desk for sure.
'Ultra silent' Ugh Marketing Types…
It's like being ‘Slightly pregnant’ or ‘quite unique.’ Just no.
