It's the seashell that's inspired Lian Li to create its special edition PC-U6 Cowry chassis.

Featuring an all-aluminium construction, Lian Li describes the PC-U6 Cowry as a piece of art - meant to be incorporated into its surroundings, apparently as a reflection of superior decoration and taste. Form aside, how does the PC-U6 Cowry stand up in the function stakes? There's support for Micro-ATX or Mini-ITX mainboards, and graphics cards up to 310mm in length. Internally, there are three 3.5in and two 2.5in bays, plus a single 5.25in bay externally. The mounting system for drives is tool-less, and Lian Li adds anti-vibration thumbscrews with rubber suspension to smooth out any niggles.

Cooling duties are taken care of by dual 120mm side panel fans, which include washable air filters to keep as much dust as possible, at bay. The ability to control fan speeds is also incorporated, and airflow is said to be enhanced further, thanks to ventilation holes in the front and rear panels. These too are protected by washable air filters. If it's liquid cooling you're interested in, Lian Li adds two rubber-ringed holes for tubing to pass through, as well.

There's USB 3.0 support, together with a complement of other connectivity options, as you'd expect. A 530mm red LED kit is also included - if you want to add some colour to the mix. Available at the end of May, the special edition PC-U6 Cowry will fetch an MSRP of $349 US Dollars, excluding tax.

I rather like that. But $349 is roughly Ā£220. Pfffft.

It's just an updated version of http://www.ubergizmo.com/2006/05/lian-li-pc-777-shell-shaped-case/

Updated and alot smaller. But price is too high for any real sale volume. Lian Li really need to look around them and see the competition has better cases and cheaper prices.
Im sorry but that looks like total tosh, really not my thing that!
I had the big brother of one of those a few years ago for my main system, had to ditch it when I got an Enermax galaxy
