PRESS RELEASE

Storage software specialist contributes to the world’s largest IT tradeshow by presenting the latest update of Open-E JovianDSS together with the new Open-E DSS V7 SOHO

Atlanta, Georgia; March 3, 2016: – Open-E, a leading developer of innovative data storage software used for building and managing reliable NAS and SAN storage environments, is once again an exhibitor at CeBIT 2016 in Hanover, Germany. The largest IT tradeshow worldwide will take place from March 14 to 18, 2016. Open-E’s booth will be located in hall 12 at stand A68-2, as a part of the Enterprise Storage Solutions Pavilion.

The company will be showcasing a set of new features for their ZFS- and Linux-based  Open-E JovianDSS, a solution that provides software defined storage and is designed especially for enterprise-sized storage environments. The major feature in the Open-E JovianDSS update 11 is the High Availability Load-Balanced Cluster option for NFS and iSCSI. Customers benefit from higher data security in cluster setups, as well as the Active-Active failover functionality of the software. This way, High Availability is ensured through a setup of two servers, in which data is stored on two server nodes at the same time. Apart from the increase in data safety, administrators can boost the performance of their system in an Active-Active configuration.

For the proven Open-E Data Storage Software V7 (DSS V7) the software specialist also introduces the new update up56, and especially the High Availability Cluster Maintenance Mode. This feature provides high availability by enabling users to reconfigure their cluster at all times, and even replace a node without downtime.

As a third product, Open-E also brings its free Open-E DSS V7 SOHO for small office and home office use to the show. With this product, users benefit from basic functionalities of a fully featured NAS / SAN software platform, as well as free of charge 4TB initial capacity, affordable storage extensions and a specific support option.

Krzysztof Franek, CEO and president of Open-E: “We are really looking forward to the show and to presenting the updated Open-E JovianDSS. Needless to say, with the recently released Open-E DSS V7 SOHO we are taking another big step that will make our products a first choice solution not only for Enterprise customers but also for Small and Home Office users.”

Some of Open-E’s partners will also be showcasing their tested and certified solutions with Open-E software:
