PRESS RELEASE

Kinomap Trainer's latest addition allows you to virtually cycle or run the London Olympic Time Trial Route

31st July 2012: Kinomap Trainer, a fitness app which hosts a geo-located video sharing platform designed to enhance the indoor training experience, introduces its newest route today meaning that anyone can join the world's top athletes to cycle or run the Olympic Time Trial Route in London from the comfort of their own home or the gym. The user can follow the course as they exercise by following synchronised video playback, which allows them to see their virtual location and watch their progress along the route as they train.

Subscribers to Kinomap Trainer's online community can upload and share their own pre-recorded routes or train on videos recorded by other subscribers from around the world, enabling them to cycle, run or row routes from around the globe.

By using GPS-located video playback, synchronised with the user via wireless ANT+ receivers and speed/cadence sensors, Kinomap Trainer can accurately track the user's progress along the route. This progress is represented by an avatar of the user, allowing them to watch their progress as their avatar moves across the map or a satellite view of the terrain, as well as view the scenery on the video playback.  To ensure that the user is experiencing the full challenge the app works with the exercise equipment to increase difficulty or resistance when the user encounters steeper ground.

Kinomap Trainer also includes a multiplayer mode, which allows up to four avatars to train together on the same map, meaning users can even race their friends in their own virtual Olympic Games.

Kinomap Trainer's range of routes also includes sections of the Tour de France, the London Marathon and Cycle Slam, so any exercise enthusiast, from beginner to professional, can take part in some of the world's top sporting events, even when it proves impossible to make it to the course itself.

Pricing and availability

Subscribers to Kinomap Trainer can view the Olympic Route here, non-subscribers can view up to five minutes of the route: http://www.kinomap.com/#!km-3zuayk.

Available now from Apple's app store, Kinomap Trainer is available on subscription, costing £7.99 per month and £49.99 per year.
