Following its debut at CeBIT 2013, the new Philips 27-inch (68.6 cm) PLS display with crystal clear Quad HD resolution, MultiView dual-source feed and webcam connectivity is now available.

Amsterdam/Berlin, 18 April 2013: MMD, the leading technology company and brand license partner for Philips monitors, is pleased to announce the release of the Philips 27-inch 272P4 display with integrated webcam and microphone for desktop conferencing. The PLS panel, with its sharpness of detail, complements the display's MultiView ability, allowing multitaskers to view contents from two different sources simultaneously without compromising vividness or clarity.

PLS Quad HD - image quality for professionals

This new 27-inch (68.6 cm) display uses the latest PLS Quad HD panel technology, with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The particularly wide viewing angles and high colour fidelity lend themselves for applications such as CAD-CAM, graphics and image rendering as well as detail-rich spreadsheets and finance feeds. All benefit from the true-colour sRGB images and 8-bit colour depth.

The productivity-boosting display

With MultiView, users can experience a world of connectivity, hooking up several devices and streaming the feeds side-by-side on the display. The display's quality really comes into its own here: the clarity of detail is vital to ensure fatigue-free productivity on a busy screen. And, since office productivity is also about collaborating with others, the display features a webcam and microphone to communicate with clients and colleagues at different locations - and there is enough screen space to make the videoconferencing experience a pleasure.

Best connections

The new 272P4 PLS display offers numerous options to best connectivity at all times.. Next to two HDMI  inputs and three high-speed USB 3.0 ports the PLS monitor also boasts a DisplayPort, which supports with a data transfer rate of up to 21.6 Gbit/s at cable lengths up to 15 m - ideal for ultra-fast image build-up and data-intensive signals. What is more, the DisplayPort enables to "daisy-chain" multiple monitors.

Focussing on user and environment

With the SmartErgoBase, the 272P4 allows users to make numerous ergonomic adjustments.  The display can be lowered down almost to desk level for a comfortable viewing angle. Tilt, swivel and pivot functionality (90° rotation) are further features. The display's integrated PowerSensor, which automatically dims the unit whenever the user moves away, contributes towards the protection of the environment by increasing the product lifespan and cutting energy bills by up to 80 %.
