Brilliant displays from Philips in a 16:10 aspect ratio

Thanks to ample desktop space and intelligent features the latest Philips 24-inch LED displays help boost productivity whilst being particularly eco-friendly

Amsterdam, 8 April 2013: With electricity bills continuously soaring MMD, the leading technology company and brand license partner for Philips Monitors, has some welcome news: the company unveils all of six Philips 24-inch office monitors with a 16:10 screen ratio and PowerSensor technology, which can cut energy consumption by up to 80 %. Next to their ecological merits, the latest-generation 24-inch monitors offer dazzling display performance, with superior contrast, colour saturation and image sharpness.

The 16:10 models with a WUXGA resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels come with different features and are available in three product lines either in silver or black. The smart PowerSensor automatically dims the display whenever the user moves away, which not only cuts energy bills by up to 80 % but also prolongs the monitor's lifespan. In addition, the monitors are made of 25 % recycled material, and the housing is free of harmful brominated flame retardants and polyvinyl chloride (PVC-BFR free).

Upping the ratio with a 16:10 viewing experience

Complementing their exemplary environmental friendliness, the displays with LED backlights offer a superb viewing experience - enabling people to work (and play) for longer without signs of fatigue. The underpinning factor here is the new 16:10 screen ratio which provides a bigger screen area and compared to Full HD a higher resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels.

Further advantages are provided in form of the so-called "Smarts" by Philips. With the SmartImage presets the imaging mode can be adjusted to different types of application. SmartControl on the other hand enables easy fine-tuning of the monitor's settings; whilst SmartContrast helps enhance the screen contrast dynamically. All in all these features ensure users consistently obtain the very best performance and productivity. In the office models from the B-line and P-line will cater to the ergonomic requirements of different users: the SmartErgoBase comes with a height adjustment of either 11 or 13 cm, and swivel as well as pivot functionality for a comfortable posture. The base also neatly manages cables, reducing cable clutter on the desktop.

Speed and connectivity

Modern workplaces have to deliver a high data throughput. Data can be transmitted at 10.8 Gbit/s from the PC with a cable length of up to 15 metres via DisplayPort. And last but not least, the monitor bezels from the B-line and P-line additionally have an integrated USB 2.0 hub with four ports to easily connect peripherals or storage media for instance.
