United Kingdom, December 18, 2012: Excitement and anticipation don't have to stop with Christmas! There'll still be something great to look forward to even once the festive season is over: MMD, the leading technology company and brand license partner for Philips Monitors, is launching two brand-new crystal clear displays early next year. Combining multiview ability with brilliant true-color imaging, the new displays - each available in both consumer and professional versions - are certain to impress.
The new crystal clear with PLS panel WQHD and 21:9 panel and Ultrawide HD displays reaffirm the commitment by MMD and Philips to providing higher-resolution displays with the superlative image quality which is sought by professional and home users alike. Alongside full connectivity options, the new displays will include advanced multiview abilities, enabling viewers to stream content from multiple sources simultaneously. At work, this enhances productivity; at home, multiview adds variety to the viewing experience.
The new displays will be available in a 27-inch version with PLS panel and WQHD 2560 x 1440 resolution, and in a 29-inch version with AH -IPS 21:9 ultra-wide display and Ultrawide HD 2560 x 1080 resolution. The PLS display delivers true color sRGB images with excellent 8 bit color depth combined with 109 ppi density and is ideal for graphics enthusiasts such as designers, photo editors or hobby movie-makers and for detail-intensive applications such as CAD, medical imaging or multi-media applications. It also features an integrated webcam with microphone to connect and collaborate with colleagues or chat to family. There will be dedicated products available both for professional and for ambitious home users. The 21:9 model, meanwhile, with its ultra-wide screen, is likely to be the display of choice for professionals who routinely multitask and need more screen workspace. The Professional version of the 21:9 WQHD display includes a webcam and microphone for enhanced office connectivity. At home, the combination of widescreen and HD is just the perfect match to enjoy upcoming entertainment highlights such as the adventures of The Hobbit.
The Philips crystal clear monitors will be in stores during Q1 2013. Price information will be announced at availability.
