PRESS RELEASE

Amsterdam, 7 June 2017 – Leading display specialist AOC announces that the AOC PDS271, a member of its new PDS monitor series, has received the 2017 COMPUTEX d&i award. The recently announced 24-inch PDS241 and 27-inch PDS271 have been conceived through the collaboration with the famous design house Studio F. A. Porsche.

AOC is proud to announce to have won the COMPUTEX d&i award for its brand-new monitor PDS271 from the PDS series.

The PDS series displays impress with their sleek appearance. Unlike other monitors, both the 24″ PDS241 and the 27″ PDS271 do not have any power or display connectors on their back side, which lets the extra-slim display with a thickness of only 5.2 mm shine in its full minimalistic glory. A 3-sided-frameless panel adds to the pure, minimalistic look. The modern, asymmetrical design of its metal stand is beautiful to look at, but also functional, offering a unique one-cable solution: The power and display cables run right through it and end up in an external modular box. This way, there are absolutely no connectors on the display’s back, and consequently no cables are dangling down from there either. Instead, an HDMI input (DisplayPort signal supported via adapter) and the power input of the external box provide the monitor with everything it needs.

The PDS series monitors come equipped with the latest AH-IPS panels from AOC, providing sharp and detailed images with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Thanks to AOC’s SuperColor WCG technology, these displays cover 100% of the sRGB and 90% of the NTSC colour space. Coupled with the wide viewing angles of 178°, multiple users marvelling at the monitor from different angles can all enjoy the vibrant colours at the same time. Additional features such as the Flicker-Free technology and the Low Blue Light mode reduce eye discomfort and fatigue during continuous use.

Approaching its 10th anniversary, the COMPUTEX d&i awards are organised by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and iF DESIGN ASIA in Taiwan’s capital, Taipei. The award winners were chosen on 6 and 7 April by six international experts and evaluated on five criteria: innovation and elaboration, functionality, aesthetics, responsibility and positioning. The jury selected 77 entries from 8 countries for this award.

The official award ceremony to honour the award winners took place on May 29 and 30, and the display is featured on the official COMPUTEX website and in the iF World Design Guide. Award-winning products were displayed at the COMPUTEX trade show from 30 May to 3 June.
