New SOYO motherboards offer cutting edge features and valued bundles targeting the high-end market and specialty system builders

Las Vegas (November 18, 2002) – SOYO, Inc., a leading innovator of DRAGON and other high-end motherboards, today announced its K8 series of full-featured performance motherboards that support upcoming 64-bit desktop AMD Athlon TM processors with Hammer technology. Continuing the DRAGON legend, this series is one of the first to support AMD’s 64-bit platform, enabling users to optimize the native 32-bit performance and adopt the new technology in the same environment.

With the discerning gamers and hardware enthusiasts in mind, the first of the SOYO K8 series motherboards offers a full feature set and optimized performance for gaming and multimedia applications. The SY-K8 Fire DRAGON is based on the ALi M1687/1563 chipset, and features support for 8X AGP Pro for extreme graphics, integrated serial ATA, ATA-133 IDE RAID (0,1), 6-channel hardware audio for crisp digital sound, embedded 10/100 Mbps LAN, high-speed IEEE 1394 Firewire ports, and on-board USB 2.0 options. To add value to the offering, SOYO is bundling its signature Sigma Box, SPDIF audio connector, and bonus CD pack to the package, making SOYO’s SY-K8 Fire DRAGON the most feature-rich motherboard in the market place.

“SOYO has consistently delivered performance-driven motherboards based on the AMD platform. With the launch of the new K8 series motherboards for the upcoming 64-bit AMD Athlon processors with Hammer technology, SOYO customers in the performance segment will be able to take advantage of the investment protection by running the native 32-bit application and easily transition to the new 64-bit extensions,” said Ming Chok, Vice President of Engineering, SOYO, Inc.

“The DRAGON series has developed a reputation as the most full-featured motherboard line in the industry. Coupled with the x86-64 computing platform, our customers in the gaming space can truly benefit from this combination for an ultimate gaming experience,” said Bruce Lin, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, SOYO USA.

"SOYO is a key manufacturer of AMD processor-based motherboards,” said Ed Gasiorowski, director of developer relations for AMD’s Computation Products Group. “With the upcoming launch of AMD’s 64-bit microprocessor and the new SOYO K8 series motherboard technology advancements, our shared customers can experience enhanced gaming and high-end application performance"
