PRESS RELEASE

  • 23-inch display now available with wide-angle viewing and brilliant picture quality
  • Plug-in productivity via USB cable for notebook users

Amsterdam, 25 November 2014: MMD, the leading technology company and brand license partner for Philips Monitors, announces a new version of the Philips 23-inch USB docking display. As well as the instant productivity of one-plug access to desktop equipment, networks, intranet and Internet via a single, super-speed USB cable, notebook users can look forward to an enhanced viewing experience when they're next in the office: the new model offers advanced IPS panel technology for wider-angle viewing, and the superb imaging quality of Full HD.

Flexibility and convenience

The 23-inch 231P4QUPES docking display is designed for professionals who need to be productive anywhere. With an integrated Ethernet port and two superfast USB 3.0 ports as well as one USB 2.0, it enables users to plug in their notebooks for immediate access to all the IT resources connected to this larger and ergonomic display - printers, external drives, camera, keyboard or mouse. All peripherals remain connected to the monitor ready for immediate use - making individual docking stations superfluous. Via USB 3.0 cable, users can even stream video and connect to networks, the Internet or intranet. Now, these productivity gains combine with the enhanced viewing experience of IPS technology. The extra-wide viewing angles of 178 degrees - horizontal and vertical - make it possible to view screen content easily from almost any perspective, even in 90-degree Pivot mode. With the brilliant, high-contrast image quality of Full HD, the display gives mobile professionals a sharper, clearer viewing experience for working and collaborating in the office - ideal for applications that demand colour accuracy and consistent brightness at all times.

Thanks to the Philips PowerSensor the display specifically helps save energy by registering whether a user sits in front of the monitor. When the user is absent, the display's brightness is immediately reduced which leads to an energy saving of up to 80%.

The Philips 231P4QUPES display is in stores now, at a recommended retail price of GBP 239.
