AMD has released its long-expected AMD FX processor line. The top-ranked FX 8150 Black Edition processor, the world's first 8 core desktop chip which has already hit the headlines for breaking an overclocking record, is currently sold out at VIP, with the distributor expecting new stock imminently.
AMD are promoting the product at a performance level between the current Intel Core i5 2500k and Core i7 2600k, with a price point to match.
Forming the rest of the FX range, all of which will be available from VIP Computers will be - two eight-core, one six-core, and one four-core - but the company says that additional versions will be released over time.
