AUSTIN, TX - February 14, 2005 - AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced the availability of two AMD Geode™ processor-based development boards designed to help simplify the design and development of x86 embedded and industrial computing devices. The AMD Geode DBSC1100 and AMD Geode DBSC1200 development boards provide a computer-on-module design ideal for low-power, high-performance computing products including set-top boxes, thin client form factors and information appliances.

The development boards provide developers with a comprehensive solution including schematics, documentation and a complete software driver package. The CPU module and base board can be easily incorporated into a wide range of end-user designs without modifications.

The small form factor, low power and simplified design packages of the development boards help developers create increasingly smaller devices demanded by the embedded and industrial markets. Application developers can reduce time-to-market for smaller, higher performing devices because the boards require minimal device enclosure space, provide broad support for industry standards and already include extensive design and engineering.

"With the AMD Geode processor-based development boards, design engineers can quickly create a full range of products for a variety of uses," said Erik Salo, director of marketing, Personal Connectivity Solutions Group, AMD. "AMD is offering its customers incredible design flexibility and support with these development tools, and we look forward to seeing additional AMD Geode processor-based devices across the embedded, industrial and consumer markets later this year."

Both development boards provide a suite of advanced capabilities. The AMD Geode DBSC1200 development board includes additional features for video input/output and processing.

For evaluation purposes, the AMD Geode DBSC1100 and DBSC1200 development boards include:

* Small form-factor CPU board and generic base board

* Enhanced IDE interface and sub-ISA interface

* USB, PS2 and PCI interfaces

* LPC and Ethernet interfaces

* Standard audio inputs and outputs

* Power management support

* Multiple operating system capability

Primary development board features include:

* Low-power, x86 compatible processor

* Industry-standard form factor - ETX, 115mm x 95mm
