PRESS RELEASE

Free mounting Kit for new Intel socket

Glinde, 19th of December 2011 - be quiet!, market leader for PC power supplies in Germany for five years in a row*, is ensuring that their CPU coolers will be able to support Intel's newest CPU generation Sandy Bridge Extreme by providing the necessary mounting hardware free of charge. Anyone who owns a be quiet! cooler, no matter which model, can sign up to receive one of the new mounting kits.

Fastest consumer processors on the market

Intel recently released its new processor generation Sandy Bridge Extreme, which offers the fastest CPUs in the consumer market right now. At the same time Intel also introduced the new socket LGA2011 to mount the processor to the motherboard. Unlike its predecessors, LGA2011 comes with a universal backplate for all coolers. So there's no more need to remove the mainboard from the case when installing a new CPU cooler. However it's not compatible with the older sockets. Therefore it needs new individual mounting brackets to use existing coolers.

Free and for all be quiet! cooler models

be quiet! is providing these brackets free of-charge for all customers who bought a CPU cooler from be quiet! in the past and have upgraded to the new Intel socket. All they need to do is sign up on the be quiet! website and upload proof of purchase for their cooler and for a LGA2011 motherboard. Once they've signed up, the mounting kit will ship without cost to the customer. Starting in March 2012, be quiet! will include the new mounting kit in all cooler models.
