PRESS RELEASE

German brand takes first places in both 140 mm and 120 mm comparison

Glinde, 17th of October 2011 - be quiet!, market leader in Germany for five years in a row*, managed to impress the editors of the German print magazine PC Games Hardware with their newest fan products. In a huge fan roundup, published in the January 2012 issue, be quiet! scored the first places in both size categories and received three awards.

The German publication compared the latest PC case fans models from 13 different manufacturers. The focus was on the popular 120 mm and 140 mm sizes. The fans tested from be quiet! included the latest releases from their Silent Wings 2 and Shadow Wings series.

An entire paragraph was dedicated to be quiet! and their dominance within this roundup. They even chose "be quiet! dominates" as a headline. In both categories, no other manufacturer matched be quiet! and their combination of silence and performance. Summing up, be quiet! received three "Top Product" awards for their Silent Wings 2 fan in both sizes as well as for the Shadow Wings low-speed-model in 120 millimeters. This particular fan also managed to break new ground at PC Games Hardware as it was the first fan to stay below a noise level of 0,1 Sone at maximum voltage, challenging their instrument´s ability to measure noise.

"be quiet!s market leadership in Germany is easily explained when one sees results such as this." said Scott Richards, Global Brand Director for be quiet!, in response to the results in the latest PC Games Hardware issue. "Over the next weeks and months we are going to take the message to users in other markets about the benefits of using be quiet! products for silent, high performance computing."

Talking about overall standings be quiet! scored first, second and third place in the 140 mm category and first, second, fourth, fifth and ninth place in the 120 mm comparison.

The full test can be found on pages 86 to 90 in issue 01/2012 of PC Games Hardware, which was released on 5th of December, 2011. All reviewed fans are already available for market prices ranging from 9 to 16 Euro.
