Konami received plenty of critisim in 2007 because the PES series didn't evolve in any way. This time around, it's heeded the advice and aside from new player models, AI elements and physics routines,  Konami has also added a few more game modes. Central to this is the new ‘Become a Legend' solo mode, which casts the user as a midfielder or striker within a match.

Fracture

Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3

Release date: October 08

Lucas Arts claim that its new third-person action shooter will be ground breaking and will feature extraordinary weaponry that allows players to do things previously only imagined. Groundbreaking terrain deformation will allow players to reshape the battlefield on the fly with futuristic weaponry of the year 2161 and the story and characters will be penned by the guys behind Star Wars and Indiana Jones, as well as Mercenaries and Thrillville. Sounds good!

FIFA 09

Platforms: PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, Wii, DS

Release date: Oct 3, 2008

After last year's effort, EA showed that it could up its effort in FIFA and revolutionise the series with some fine enhancements. The next iteration looks to be even better with 250 enhancements to the core gameplay, new animation technology and new player momentum physics.

Fallout 3

Platforms: PC, Xbox 360, PS3

Release date: Q4 2008, approximately Oct 7

Excitement follows the announcement of any Betheseda game and the hype surrounding FallOut 3 has hit fever pitch. It looks incredible and promises an expansive world, unique combat, shockingly realistic visuals, tons of player choice, and an incredible cast of dynamic characters. We can't wait to explore the vast Capital Wasteland in this stunning looking RPG.

Saint's Row 2

Platforms: PC, Xbox 360 , PS3

Release date: Oct 14 (NA), Oct 17 (EU)

A more darker and sinister sequel to THQ's open world action adventure is planned for Saint's Row 2. Saints Row 2 will offer vastly expanded customization options, a totally transformed and expanded city of Stilwater, all new vehicles, sandbox tools and toys as well as both online co-op and competitive multiplayer.
