Christmas has come early for PC gaming enthusiasts as Nvidia has unveiled not one, but two new high-end GPUs. The GeForce GTX 980 and GTX 970 are here, and they bring with them top-notch gaming performance in an energy-efficient package that, as far as single-GPU solutions are concerned, are second to none.
But is it enough? Pricing on the GTX 970 in particular is keen, and there appears to be good stock availability, however there's a sense that Nvidia has yet to unleash the full force of the Maxwell architecture. And truth be told, if you like your performance gains to be monumental, even the GTX 980 could disappoint - it isn't massively quicker than GTX 780 Ti.
Swings and roundabouts, but it really depends on how much you're willing to pay, the games you like to play, and which graphics card you're currently using. You've read the reviews, you've seen the cards, so taking all the aforementioned into account, it's time to have your say: will you be upgrading to GeForce GTX 980/970?
