Pencil Mod

So well you might as well see the pencil that did the job, a regular HB pencil, it's been working fine for a month now, with just pencilled in L1 bridges

Well there you have it all that I needed to unlock my L1 bridges. Simple cheap, and well virtually free. This pencil has seen better days, but so long as there's lead in your pencil, then it will work fine, hehe. And there's the added bonus that there is a rubber on the end to rub out your mistakes.

The L1 bridges are shown below on an old Duron, with some of the older CPU's they weren't actually locked, this one has intact L1 bridges, as shown in the pic below

With the later Durons and T-Birds, it is necessary to use the pencil to rejoin the broken bridges.

I took some pictures of my T-bird, with the joined L1 bridges the pics didn't come out all that well, but here they are. I haven't taken it out again as the CPU seems to be working well, at the moment so I don't want to have to refit the heatsink for the sake of another picture.

The only thing that you have to be sure of is that there are no stray lines connecting the bridges to other bridges, just make sure that you go straight across, the picture below shows my L1 bridges, although messy the pencil lines are SEPARATE from each other, be sure be very sure that yours look similar to mine as shown below. Use a magnifying glass to check it out before you switch your PC on, otherwise instead of Bleep it could be Snap Crackle and Pop and BYE BYE CPU )O:

A rather poor quality picture showing L1 bridges connected

A close up picture of my CPU core for those that are interested
