Good news for owners of the original Nexus S Google phones. Google employee Adel Saoud has revealed that the testing process of Ice Cream Sandwich, aka Android 4.0, has begun as Google rolls-out over-the-air updates to the Nexus S phones of the Google workforce.
The idea, of course, is to have Google employees try out and effectively debug the update on a grander scale, before rolling-out to Joe Public, helping to ensure a relatively stable release. Mr Saoud's tweets and Google+ posts have since been removed, though screenshots, re-shares and caches are still hanging around as evidence; the removal is hopefully a good sign that Mr Saoud's statement is one with merit.
If the news indeed rings true, it speaks well for the progress Android 4.0 is making towards roll-out on production devices, with any luck, we may see Android 4.0 on several devices, including the Nexus S, come Christmas and the New Year, fingers crossed!
