Boy Genius Report claims to have the scoop that HTC Ville will be announced and showcased at the Mobile World Congress in February and will go on sale in April 2012.
Running on Android 4.0, the tech site claims that the smartphone will feature a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, a 4.3in qHD Super AMOLED display, and an 8 megapixel camera. Other features include the ability to capture video in 1080p HD, HSPA+ connectivity, and a super-slim chassis less than 8mm thick.
Though HTC has yet to reveal the finer details of its updated user interface, which will be a skin that runs on top of the new Android operating system, we do know it will sport a rejuvenated home screen, as well as new apps and widgets.
The news of HTC Ville’s existence follows the unveiling of HTC Edge (also unannounced) which Pocketnow believes could be the world’s first quad-core phone, sporting a Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 1GB RAM, 4.7-inch display with 720p HD resolution, and an 8-megapixel camera.
Rumour has it that the HTC Ville will go on sale in either Q1 or Q2 of 2012.
