Minor fixes? Game tweaks? Adds a Mexican midget in a sombrero?

I'm all for companies that provide constant support for their products and with Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo frequently updating their new consoles firmware, you'll never see it happening more often than on that box under your telly.

Usually though, each update gets a bit of shout about what's being added or enhanced. Not so with the 1.92 firmware update on the PS3 though... it's all a bit of a mystery.

Some reckon there's improved support for PS2 games, which should make a lot of UK gamers happy after the much-publicised drop in supported PS2 games compared to the US.

I've been having a look myself and can see a couple of minor enhancements to the PlayStation Store but not much else. It'd be nice to know what's new though, unless it's nothing really worth bothering over... perhaps Sony are discreetly fixing the bugs in Warhawk that've surfaced over the last fews days?

If so, where's the shame in that? At least they're not leaving the gamers hanging...

Apparently the word out there is that it is pretty minor (roll on version 2.0 i say)

* The ability to add Flash wallpapers
* Web browser improvements
* Controllers auto-power off after inactivity
* The XMB loads icons and video thumbnails much faster. Transitions between games and the XMB are all reportedly faster too.
* Backwards compatibility updated for consoles lacking the Emotion Engine
yup very minor changes, there's also alot of people having a few problems with this update, controllers auto powering off whilst in-game and not being able to get into psn store!!! no problems for me.

* Backwards compatibility updated for consoles lacking the Emotion Engine
- not mine :)
