Movie and game rental service LOVEFiLM is to be made available via the PS3 next month, allowing users to stream films through the PlayStation Network.

The new application will allow users to order physical discs or stream movies and will feature a user management system similiar to LOVEFiLM's online service.

Blinkbox beat LOVEFiLM earlier this year to become the first U.K. company to offer movie streaming, but with LOVEFiLM now on board there should be much more choice at our fingertips.

A launch date has yet to be announced, but according to LOVEFiLM's YouTube Channel it will arrive next month.

Nice!

Finally some competition to PS3 movie store with stereo sound and standard def for Ā£7!!
eeeeenteresting, any news on subscription premium for this (if any?) I wonder if it'll be a huge number of releases or just newer stuff?

Blinkbox is ok, licensing is a pain though, I've had Avatar for months but it won't stream in the UK yet & I'm not watching it on a PC monitor :/

Nothing. Now that LoveFilm has announced it I'd expect a Sony press release to be issued before the end of the month.

I used to be in LoveFilm, this might tempt me back.
