EA has updated its free 'On the House' feature game. The latest title to get the giveaway treatment is BioWare's action RPG game Dragon Age: Origins (Standard Edition). As with previous 'On the House' giveaways this isn't a demo or time limited edition but you will have to claim your free copy of the game via an Origin account before Tuesday 14th October.
Dragon Age: Origins was released in November 2009 on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and is a well regarded action-based medieval RPG game. HEXUS reviewed the game when it was launched half a decade ago and gave it a decent 7.5/10 score.
This freebie is the first in the Dragon Age series and the third game will be out next month (18 Nov in the US, 21 Nov in Europe). Perhaps EA is hoping to rekindle interest in the Dragon Age series with this freebie before Inquisition hits the shelves. We can't complain at this kind of marketing but just hope that Dragon Age: Inquisition will be as good as fans of the series hope.
In an update about the delayed Dragon Age: Inquisition, game Executive Producer Mark Darrah said that the release date had slipped but "I know the game you'll play will be all the better for it". Gamers should experience a more polished experience which will be "the best it can be in the platform you choose to play on".
Back to the current giveaway, if you grab it now you can save spending the usual £14.99 ($19.99) on the game. Also please note that casual game Bejeweled 3 is still free 'On the House' concurrently on both PC and Mac.
