Ubisoft has announced that it is releasing a season pass for Assassin's Creed Unity and published a video trailer to whet your appetite. The season pass doesn't just contain the usual DLC collection, it includes an unexpected standalone 2.5D game called Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China, reports Eurogamer. Further content, including three extra missions for the main game, over 30 new weapons and items, and access to additional story campaign centred on Arno's journey which takes place after the events of the main story, will be bundled in for season pass purchasers.
The extra game chapter is called Dead Kings, and is set in the city of Saint Denis, where French kings are laid to rest. Interestingly, this add-on is described by creative director Alex Amancio as the "the darkest story we've ever told in the franchise."
The included standalone game 'Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China' is described as a 2.5D side-scroller title set in 16th century China. Players will be out in the shoes of Chinese assassin Chao Jun with a mission to avenge her fallen brotherhood as she returns to Beijing. The female character's first appearance was in Assassin's Creed Embers, as a student of Assassin Creed 2's Ezio Auditore.
"Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China is an entirely new entry in the Assassin’s Creed Universe. True to the Assassin’s Creed experience, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles is a 2.5D reimagining of the celebrated franchise," says Ubisoft's press release. The publisher also stated that the new game will feature famous Chinese landmarks such as the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City. It is however, unknown whether Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China will be available outside of Unity's season pass.
All of the above season pass content will be available by early 2015, and Assassin's Creed Unity will be coming to Windows PCs, PS4 and Xbox One on 11th Nov in North America and 13th Nov in Europe.
