If you're finding the wait until May 15 to be unbearable, you're in luck as Blizzard will today publicly open the gates to the Diablo III beta.
A closed beta has already been running for a couple of months, but starting at 8pm today, anybody with a free battle.net account will be able to join in and get a taste of Diablo III right up until 6pm on Monday.
Blizzard's officially using this mass beta as a means to stress test the game and its associated servers prior to the May 15 release, but you needn't concern yourself with all that behind the scenes jiggery pokery. All you need to know is that the forecast says rain, and you have just 70 hours to get five classes up to level 13 in an effort to save the world from an impending demonic invasion.
Sound like fun? Here's how to get in on the action:
- Log in or create a Battle.net account at http://www.battle.net
- Create your BattleTag, which is required to play Diablo III (What is BattleTag?)
- Download the game client, install, and play between 20:01 BST April 20 and 16:00 BST April 23
