If you’ve ever attended one of the incredible Video Games Live concerts, where you’ll hear a full orchestra playing everything from the Zelda and Mario theme tunes to sci-fi inspired tunes plucked from the heart of games such as Bioshock and Mass Effect, you’ll be acutely aware that video game soundtracks are big business and a core part of any story-driven gaming experience..

In Batman: Arkham City, due for release in October, Warner Bros is pulling out all the stops to produce a soundtrack that reflects the storyline and captures the mood of Arkham City. No less than 12 original tracks will feature in the game and on the album, including tunes from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Coheed and Cambria. All tracks will feature on a standalone album, which will be released on October 4th. If you buy the Collector’s Edition of Batman: Arkham City, you’ll automatically receive a code to download the album for free.
