EA and BioWare's Mass Effect: Andromeda is just a few weeks away from launch. This weekend the game reached a number of development milestones; it went gold, the PC minimum and recommended specs were published, and we hear the game will launch on EA Access and Origin Access five days earlier than the scheduled general availability on 21st March. In the last week or so EA has also uploaded quite a few new videos showcasing gameplay and features so it's worth a glance through the official YouTube playlist if you are at all interested.

The story led sci-fi action RPG blockbuster has the following minimum and recommended specs for enjoyment on PCs:

Minimum

  • PROCESSOR: Intel Core i5 3570 or AMD FX-6350

The game's download size on PC is expected to be 55GB and there will be a day one patch which should be available for the Origin Access launch date of 16th March. It's not just big in terms of downloads, Mass Effect: Andromeda is said to be BioWare's biggest ever game - stuffed with galactic and alien planetary goodness. Players will enjoy the huge explorable areas, character variety, frantic combat, RPG skill tree development, and loadout flexibility. Gamespot spoke to BioWare producer Fabrice Condominas who said the new game looked back at the preceding trilogy and tried to build in the best parts of all three.

So exciting its coming out soon, cant wait to play this game. i'm trying not to watch any videos so i can just play and see it all for my self. Already a Day one patch ? and this has only gone Gold in the last few days. i'm tempted to wait another 2 months before i play it until they've fixed all the bug in it.
Absolutely loved the Mass Effect games!!!!

So, 55GB…. Hey, that's only about 2½ days of continual download on my connection. How awesome is that, eh!! :woowoo:

Bit worried that my system is already starting to fall below recommended specs, though, especially as my CPU is suddenly so naff….. Then again, I'm still only in 1080, so I doubt it'll be that much below 20fps!!

Me too I recently played all 3 of them and it was great. 55Gb is fine .. better than 101gb for Gears of war 4 LOL from the Xbow store. i hope they carried over some of the nice bits from the older games
The videos that have been released to promote this game focus on a 3rd person shooting game, perhaps they have forgotten the Mass Effect franchise is primarily an RPG genre game with the odd combat section in it.

hopefully there is some RPG elements in there. It will be very dissapointing if this game is mostly 3rd person shooting with a story that can be completed in less that a day.

Only the 1st game was an RPG, since then they've been action games with some RPG elements. I've seen it described as a “guns & conversation” game.
