Capcom has released a playable demo for Resident Evil 7: Beginning Hour on PC. You can grab the game demo via its Steam Store page where it has garnered 'very positive reviews'. The Steam Store lists minimum and recommended PC hardware and software requirements which should remain the same for the full release game. Resident Evil 7: Beginning Hour delivers "photorealistic graphics" thanks to Capcoms's RE Engine.

The first-person perspective demo takes place in an abandoned house where you have woken up and, as daylight is fading, you would definitely like to escape from. Capcom has reinvented the franchise here, so you won't be playing in third person perspective or see or hear about usual 'Resi' characters like Chris Redfield or the Umbrella Corporation. 'Survival Horror' is still the theme of course, and you will be exploring scary scenes and solving fiendish puzzles in the game's forbidding environment.

PC system requirements are as follows:

Other platforms have been able to sample Resident Evil 7: Beginning Hour demos well ahead of this PC version. PS4 gamers have been able to play a demo since June, and the Xbox One platform demo came out earlier this month. Thus those interested will be able to see various demo walkthroughs and game 'secrets' exposed in many a YouTube video.

Resident Evil 7: Beginning Hour launches on PC, PS4 (and PSVR) and Xbox One on the 24th January 2017.
