Bethesda has set out its stall, for what it will offer to gamers from the Fallout 4 launch and beyond. It says there will be regular free game updates that go beyond bug and game issues fixing to being new features. Furthermore Bethesda will be making a host of DLC for the game and has announced that the Season Pass will "reward our most loyal fans," by providing all the DLC that is ever made for the game for a flat $30 (about £20).
In a new blog post Bethesda says that after so many years of Fallout 4 development it "can't believe it's almost done". Nearing the finishing post has let the developers have a bit of time to think about what they will do with the game post-launch. First of all, after the game is launched in November, it is promised that there will be regular free updates to provide not just bug fixes but also introduce new features. Likening the scope for improvements to what it did with Skyrim, Bethesda says it will "work with all of you to figure out what new things you’d love to see added to Fallout 4".
DLC plans
Moving onto the topic of DLC, Bethesda announced that it will be offering a Season Pass for Fallout 4. Purchasers will receive "all of the Fallout 4 DLC we ever do for just $30," it promises. Again with reference to previous titles it has published it reckons that such an outlay will save fans at least $10, probably more, if they were to buy the DLC separately. At the moment Bethesda says it doesn't have an outline of what the DLC might be, "since we're still hard at work on the game."
Mods and Creation kit
Bethesda asserts that it has worked to make "Fallout 4 open and moddable at every step in development". To aid users in their game tinkering it plans to release the Creation Kit for the PCs early in 2016. It will be the same tool the developers use in the studio and will facilitate the end user creation of mods and allow you to share them with others. Bethesda says that "these same mods will then be coming to Xbox One, and then PlayStation 4."
