It seems as though fans of the Nintendo 64 classic GoldenEye could be in for a treat after Activision was spotted registering the domain name goldeneyegame.com, which certainly points to some sort of revival for the much loved title.

Now, this doesn’t mean that there is definitely a new GoldenEye game heading our way but it does sound promising, doesn’t it?

So, what do you think, would you like Activision to remake the classic first person shooter or would you prefer it left it alone and tried something entirely different?"

The Goldeneye brand has been used before, in the entirely-unrelated-to-the-movie game Goldeneye: Rogue Agent. I think most people felt it was cashing in a bit, so this could well be the same. To get any of the same spirit, the game would have to be made by Rare, or Free Radical Design, the studio with most of the Goldeneye programmers.
Free Radical shut down a couple of years ago, lost a lot of staff and is now Crytek UK

Do you know if the group from Rare are still in Crytek UK? Not that Activision would presumably have much to do with that.

As in the original Rare devs from goldeneye/perfect dark? No idea as they didn't name names when they cut 143 jobs, probably moved on to elsewhere though
