Popular PC, components and accessories maker has launched a new gaming mouse. The Gigabyte XM300 Gaming Mouse is the first rodent in Gigabyte's Xtreme Gaming range and boasts an attractive set of specifications with a suitably ergonomic design plus the inevitable 16.8 million colour LED lighting frills.
Two key performance specifications of a mouse stem from the sensor used and the quality of the switches and Gigabyte doesn't disappoint. The XM300 employs a Pixart 3988 optical sensor with a top resolution of 6400DPI and adjustable in 50DPI increments. The sensor facilitates accurate tracking at up to 200 inches per second 50g acceleration. Users can adjust the sensor DPI on the fly with the dedicated easy access keys above the mouse scroll wheel. Well regarded Omron microswitches are employed by this gaming mouse for its main pair of L/R buttons and they are rated for 20 million clicks.
The design of the Gigabyte XM300 is claimed to be Xtremely ergonomic (for right handed folk) and suitable for an array of gaming grips I had until now never seen categorised. Apparently Gigabyte has optimised the design for gamers who prefer mousing grips such as; the palm grip, the claw grip and/or the finger tip grip...
Gigabyte's new Xtreme Gaming series mouse uses glide-optimised Teflon feet and thoughtfully two sets of extra feet are provided to swap in as your mousing mileage wears the pre-installed set down. Still on the topic of design you can customise this mouse visually thanks to the built-in 16.8 million colour LEDs. Lighting effects include RGB cycling and breathing. Grip on the XM300 is enhanced by rubber panels and you have a 1.8m PVC cable with gold plated USB connector. This mouse measures (L)130.0*(W)60.0*(H)43.0 mm and weighs 101g not including the cable.
Gaming mice often come with enhanced software control panels for configuration and creating/editing button macros. Gigabyte's XM300 can be customised with the Xtreme Macro Engine which affords button macro assignment, saving and storing to onboard memory, lighting effects customisations, and more.
We haven't been given any pricing or availability details for the new Gigabyte XM300.
