PC components and accessories maker Corsair has launched a new range of mice. The new mice are called the Corsair Sabre RGB Gaming Mice. Corsair says that these 8-button rodents have been designed "with input from veteran pro gamers" and are ergonomic, lightweight, four-zone RGB LED lit and available with either an optical or a laser sensor.
In an email to HEXUS, Corsair lists the most compelling features of the Sabre RGB as follows:
- New ergonomic, featherweight sub-100 gram body
- Four-zone 16.8 million colour backlighting
- CUE software offering advanced, personalized performance and color customization
- Available with two sensor types:
a) 6400 DPI optical sensor with multi-color smooth, accurate tracking.
b) 8200 DPI laser sensor with ultra-precise tracking on nearly any surface - Eight easy-access programmable buttons
- High-reliability switches rated for 20 million clicks
- Braided 1.8 meter easy-flex cable
Looking at the list above you can see that Corsair has listed the lightweight design at the top of the bullet point feature breakdown. It says that the featherweight body combined with sleek ergonomics makes it perfect for "quick, fluid, and precise movements over extended gaming sessions". Jason Christian, Product Manager for gaming peripherals at Corsair Gaming explained that "As a competitive Counter-Strike GO player, I need an agile and accurate mouse to allow me to get consistent head shots with minimal effort and maximum efficiency." Christian added "To this end, I designed the Sabre RGB mice from the ground up to be lean and ultralight with the same level of precision of our M65 and M45 mice."
Complementing the hardware, Corsair supplies the 8-button Sabre RGB gaming mouse with the CUE control panel software. This utility allows gamers to fine tune mouse performance parameters such as DPI, acceleration, and smoothing and adjust button assignments and macros.
Corsair has put some thought into the lighting of this gaming peripheral. With four lighting zones and a choice of 16.8 million colours you might find it complements your current Corsair branded K70, K95, or K65 RGB mechanical gaming keyboard and/or Corsair Gaming H1500 and H2100 gaming headsets very nicely.
Corsair Sabre RGB Laser Mice have an $69.99 MSRP (£64.99), the Sabre RGB Optical Mouse is listed at $59.99 MSRP (UK price N/A). Both mice are available from Scan.co.uk.
