Post apocalyptic game world

FallOut 3 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC is due for release in Autumn 2008. Following a global atomic war in 2077, Fallout 3 is set in an expansive post apocalyptic game world where mutants roam and survivors live in underground vaults away from the radiation.

The game combines combat and RPG elements and begins in Vault 101, an underground haven that has been built to protect its resident's from the threat of radiation in the outside world. With radiation comes a twisted set of mutants and creatures who wander around the wastelands looking for fresh meat to savage. One day your father leaves the vault and heads for the Wastelands without warning. It's your job to find him and uncover why he has braved returning to the outside world.

Bethseda are intent on creating a world with limitless freedom and tell us we'll be able to wander around the ruins, where we'll see some of the great momuments of the US. The games revolves around a character points-based system where you can improve yourself in certain abilities and then level up your character where you see fit.

Ultimately you can do anything. You can base that character on you—it will change with you because it is based on you. You begin as a baby. You learn to walk, run, play with toys and pick your seven attributes collectively called S.P.E.C.I.A.L. (Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility and Luck.), as in previous Fallout games. As time goes on your age advances. Time spent within an age bracket increases as you grow older, so don't worry—you won't be fighting off Super Mutants as a Huggies-wearing bouncing baby.

Looks pretty cool but, the game looks like it will be a lot like oblivion, especially with the leveling system, anyway it's early days yet.
Like Oblivion, but after a nuclear war! Can't wait to see what Bethseda do with this.
If they don't put in crappy leveled enemies and not make it so everyone's faces have been sat on then I'll be a happy bunny.
Nah bethesda know they failed on the levelling enemies in oblivion, (although it didnt stop my 200 hrs of fun) so they will def do things differently!!! cant wait for this. does anyone know if its gonna be dx10?
Based on a souped up Oblivion engine so I doubt it will be, or at least the DX10 improvements will be like those in CoH, i.e. very tiny
